🏠Tattoo-Friendly Onsen in Hokkaido

Yes. Tattoo GO lists 400 onsen in Hokkaido. For each one, you can see how many visitors with tattoos got in ("Got in") or had trouble ("Hmm…"), and read their reports.

Places with many "Got in" reports include 虎杖浜温泉ホテル（ぬくもりの湯）, ハイランドふらの, 然別峡 かんの温泉. Reports come from visitors, so rules may have changed since.

It depends on the facility. Some visitors report getting in with a cover sticker or a towel over a small tattoo, while others were turned away. Check the reports on each page and the facility’s own rules before you go.

In Japan, tattoos have long been associated with organized crime, so many baths ban them regardless of who you are. More places now welcome visitors with tattoos, or allow them in private baths.
