When I checked by phone, they said they don't refuse tattoos. Everyone bathing there had really good manners, and it was a pleasant visit. The food was delicious too.
I've been four times and got in with no problem.

There were no notices prohibiting tattoos, so I tried going in. There was a staff member inside who saw them, but I didn't get warned and was able to bathe!

Hello. Until about 15 years ago, ink was a no at Iyashi no Yu. Actually, I'm heavily tattooed, and back then when I dropped in with my young girlfriend, they turned me away. I was really disappointed, so I contacted the person in charge at the town office, and later they got back to me, and it became possible for people like us to bathe there. Given that history, so that we can keep bathing there in the future, it goes without saying that we should never cause trouble for the people around us. Let's all work together to keep it a good environment.
My husband got a big back piece in his reckless youth, but he goes often with no problem. However, he says that on weekends and holidays, fathers with small kids sometimes give him suspicious looks. On weekdays there are lots of tradesmen and older people, so it seems to be no problem. Also, for the reasons above, if you want quiet I recommend weekdays. It can get noisy on days off. I go every week, but I've never seen anyone with tattoos in the women's bath. He says there's only the occasional one in the men's bath too. The sauna alternates between a dry sauna and a steam sauna. The steam sauna has no cold plunge, and I'm kind of worried about mold, so I don't really feel like using it, but I always use the dry sauna.
Tattoos were OK. It was spacious and clean, and I could really relax. I'll use it again.
