I have a second home nearby and go often. About a year ago the "no tattoos" sign got flipped over, and now it's OK.
I only had a small one on my leg to begin with, so I used to cover it with a towel when I went in. Even back then there were a few people with tattoos, but now it seems to be officially allowed.
