Hmm…You can't get in. However, foreigners are a different story. --- "At Thermae-yu, we believe that true hospitality means recognizing the different values of foreign guests from different cultures and responding in a way that suits them, so even guests with design tattoos can use the facility by applying our dedicated cover stickers."
Hmm…Lots of people who can't read, huh... Let's follow the facility's rules lol
Got inIs this an onsen you can get into even with tattoos?
Hmm…Honestly kind of amazing that it's a no in a location like this! I don't get it!
It was clearly stated on the official website. Even though it's in Kabukicho...

There was a woman with several tattoos bigger than a palm on her ears, the back of her neck, her lower back and her legs. She wasn't covering them at all. She looked like she might be half Japanese?
I'm a woman, and even with several tattoos it was OK without cover stickers.
It's a discriminatory bath.
Thermae-yu is run by Econach Holdings Co., Ltd. They have a contact form, so please use it. I'd think a good company wouldn't discriminate between men and women.
I really don't get how tattoos are OK for women only. Since complaining here won't change anything, I contacted their head office directly and asked them to be more flexible. Everyone, please contact the head office too.

I think it's discrimination. They can't even treat Japanese people well, and they call this omotenashi (hospitality)? What a joke! I'd understand if they let Japanese people cover up with stickers too.
It's discrimination: Japanese people with tattoos who were born and raised abroad and came to Japan as adults aren't allowed. That's just too much.
Foreigners can get in with a cover sticker, but Japanese people can't. I'm shocked at such baffling discrimination.
What is this? A shocking, oh-my-goodness onsen. "Guests can use the facility by applying our dedicated cover stickers." Is that some kind of branding mark?
