Visitor reports(16)

  1. Hmm…

    Yes.

  2. Hmm…

Staff wander around. With tattoos in 3 places, I was told to leave within 5 minutes.

  3. I got kicked out because mine stuck out a little past the size limit. They didn't even say thank you when I paid.

  4. Got in

I went for a morning bath with tattoos in 3 places: my shoulder blade (traditional Japanese), my lower back (tribal) and my calf (tribal), and I got in. I think if you don't draw attention and behave yourself, you won't get warned.

  5. Got in

I have a cigarette-pack-sized one on my lower back, but I got in normally without covering it.

  6. As of now, can people with large tattoos bathe?

  7. Got in

I asked, and two spots was OK!

  8. Got in

I went with someone who has fashionable tattoos all over, down to the wrists and ankles. They did cover them with a towel, but nobody told us off, and we got to enjoy both the food and the baths. I made a point of being on really good behavior. I thought it was a nice spa that doesn't judge people by their looks.

  9. Is it OK for people with tattoos?

  10. In the bedrock bath, you're barely exposed, so it's fine as long as there's nothing on your face, palms, tops of your feet, etc. For the bath, I have three or more that are over 20 cm, and it was fine since they're small enough to cover, but staff come around often, so people with a full back piece and such might get called out?

  1. I called the place to check, and they told me up to two of 20x20 is OK.

  2. Got in

It's hard to notice, but the sign with the rules has a big picture that basically says no tattoos, and below it in small print it says up to two of 20x20 are OK! So it's not like you can't get in at all. Mine were just barely 20x20, but I got in.

  3. Hmm…

Is the bedrock bath (ganbanyoku) OK even with tattoos?

  4. Got in

Up to three palm-sized tattoos is fine.

  5. Hmm…

There's a sign at the entrance about bathing etiquette. Apparently people with tattoos are refused.

  6. Hmm…

They said it's because tattoos bother other people? They refuse you for all the main baths, except the bedrock bath.
