It's not prejudice, it's about preventing infections, come on.
There are lots of signs saying no tattoos around the building.
They officially refuse it, so you can't get in. Nowhere does it say it's OK if you cover it or OK if they don't find out.
My reason for "Hmm" is that you can't use it purely because of prejudice. As for hygiene, nobody goes into an onsen with a fresh tattoo. And "gangster = tattoos" is outdated too. If there's some other reason, I wish they'd state it.
