I see this site as something that tells you "places where, under the onsen's rules, tattoos are allowed," not something that tells you "places where, under the onsen's rules, tattoos aren't allowed but you can sneak in, or the staff won't warn you."
The moment you got tattooed, you accepted that you basically can't go into onsen.
Writing from that point of view: under this place's rules, tattoos are not allowed, and the official site also says they refuse.
Hmm…
Basically nobody says anything, but if other people tip them off, they come to warn you for form's sake. It's a gray zone.
Got in
I used to go in a lot, but judging from people's comments I thought it might be a no now, so I went in covered all over with supports and tape, and there were guys with full torso tattoos just there as normal.
I wish the info were a bit more reliable. Otherwise this site itself becomes unreliable.
Hmm…
This place basically puts up signs refusing tattoos and irezumi.
I was given a verbal warning, and on top of that, someone higher up at the place (?) came with several others and watched me until I got out of the bath.
Apparently the police patrol a lot too, and I saw a police car circling the parking lot.
Kyoraku-yu nearby is OK with tattoos and irezumi, so if you're going, go to Kyoraku-yu.
Hmm…
I used to get in easily, but maybe they've gotten stricter recently. The patrols are strict and they kick you out right away.
You used to be able to get in... but I haven't been lately, so I'm not sure how it is now...
Hmm…
They tapped me on the shoulder and put me out.
Hmm…
When I told the front desk there were three people with full-body tattoos, they went to warn them right away, so I think it's tough.
