I booked something called the Gensen Cafe Hokkori Plan, with a private onsen in a private room at a set time, but when I showed up on time that day, they led me to a table seat and told me there's no private onsen on weekends. The booking page said nothing about weekends; if anything, there was a note saying the onsen was private. They told me this suddenly on the day as if it were obvious, and while it was one thing that the other guests were all young people, the atmosphere was sloppy and had no charm whatsoever. I had contacted them in advance because a child would be with us, and their reply then was very polite and nice, which makes it all the more really, really disappointing. I left without using it. If you don't contact them directly and ask carefully, it'll cause problems.
